Rather than masking the food in the heavy garnishes and sauces sometimes associated with this cuisine, the intensity of the fresh flavours remain – allowing for lighter and healthier meals of light textures to be presented in a way that very much lets the food itself ‘do the talking’.

Superb food and atmosphere

A number of friends and work colleagues waxed lyrical about the Saffrons experience, so we included this as our evening meal as part of a Spa weekend. We had the ‘Tasting menu’ which was a perfect way to sample the great cooking and some memorable wines. We were there for a ‘special’ birthday and the restaurant perfectly fitted the occasion.

Laurentiu started his career in hospitality in 1997 and after many years of hard work, developing his skills while traveling the world on cruise liners before returning to the UK to work for top hospitality giants such as Hilton and Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, Laurentiu now prides himself on being the number 1 ambassador for Saffrons and openly states that ‘Saffrons is the number 1 restaurant in Jersey’.

Favourite dish: Saffrons Lobster XEC XEC, butter poached lobster tail, crunchy lobster claw, stuffed Jersey squid with xec xec moilee sauce.

Rupinder has over 10 years experience driving the success of 5 Star establishments such as the Oberoi Rajvilas Jaipur and Taj Residency Lucknow. He is passionate about developing menus that deliver singular guest experiences and has won many accolades during his career including the Gold media for Channel Island Chef of the year 2014.

Favourite dish: Obviously Rupinder likes them all but has a particular tendency for the vegetarian menus. “Vegetables complement spices well, enhancing the flavour and healthy diet”.

This was one of our favourites to eat in. Good food and good company and lovely friendly staff. The desserts were my favourite, they were all good , but probably too much choice!!
